Namiki Hajime was born in 1947 in Sumida Ward, Tokyo.
He became a disciple of the sculptor Ogura Shigeyama 小倉茂山 in 1966.
1975 Started his solo exhibition.
Although originally trained as a sculptor, he began making wood block prints from 1978 onward. He carves his own blocks and prints each work using traditional methods, subsequently signing and numbering them in pencil.
Since 1983 he has held solo exhibitions in various places.
