Original woodblock print triptych – Watanabe Yosai Nobukazu (1872-1944) – “Nisshin matsuraiki Peikin kanraku shinshō kōsan no zu” 日清末来期北京陥落清将降参之図 (The surrender of the general of the fall of Beijing at the end of the Sino-Japanese War) – Japan – 1901 (Meiji 34), April

This Ukiyo-e drawn a scene where “Sōhei and samurai” are fighting.
There are cuts and holes where plums are drawn.
The sign of ouju Yousai nobukazue(応需陽斎延一画) is written on the ukiyo-e.

※This is Japanese paper so tears easily.
There are folds because it is old

memo(Yōsai Nobukazu 楊斎延一)
Yōshūchikanobu(楊州周延) disciple.
he lived in Morikawa-cho, Hongo, Tokyo.
He was active as an ukiyo-e artist from around 1870 (Meiji 20) to 1907 (Meiji 40)
It is famous mainly for drawing Ukiyo-e of war products such as the Sino-Japanese War and the Russo-Japanese War, and ukiyo-e of samurai.
He often draws beauty woman paintings that his master often drew.
In the latter years, I also draw a Nikuhitsuga(肉筆画)
