Original woodblock print, Triptych – Utagawa Yoshikazu (act. 1848-1870) – “Tōsei Yanagawa no yūkei”當世柳川の夕景(Evening view of Yanagawa river in the wealthy world)  – 1855(Ansei 2 period)

Utagawa Yoshitora is name ‘Ichijusai Yoshikazue’”一寿斎芳員画”in his signature.

As it is an old one, it has dirt, holes, and faded parts.

A disciple of Kuniyoshi Utagawa. His name is Jirokichi次郎吉 (or Jirobei次郎兵衛), and the surnames of Utagawa are used surname Ichijusai(一寿斎)Syunsai(春斎), Ichikawa(一川), and Ichikawasai(一川斎,). His drawing period was from around Kaei(嘉永) to around 1870, and he drew battle paintings, warrior paintings, bird-and-flower paintings, and Kusazoshi illustrations.
After the opening of Yokohama Port, he became interested in the lifestyles of foreigners.
Therefore, he draws many pictures of foreigners. In the first year of Bunkyu (1861), when there was no railroad in Japan, he drew the “Americakoku Kisya ourai(亜墨利加国蒸気車往来)” and the “Tōkyō han’ei-sha ōrai no zu'(東京繁栄車往来之図)” in 1897. He drawing a train.
