The signature says “Toyohara Kuniteru e”豊原国輝画”.
As it is an old one, it has dirt, holes, and faded parts.
Utagawa KuniteruIII,Toyohara Kuniteru (?‐?)(memo)
At first, he was a disciple of the second generation Utagawa Kuniteru(歌川国輝II), but later became a disciple of Toyohara Kunichi(豊原国周). His real surname is Okada(岡田) and his first name is Fujishiro(藤四郎).he took on Toyohara as a surname, and also used the surname Ichi yusai(一雄斎),asahi Sai(旭斎),Nobori asahisai(昇旭斎), KuniteruII died in 1874, and he named the KuniteruIII.The drawing period was from around 1886 (Meiji 19) to around 1896 (Meiji 29), and he studied painting with Kunichika(豊原国周), and from 1890 (Meiji 23) he named his surname Toyohara. His works include a series of “Tokyo Famous Places”, three consecutive “Asakusa Kanzeon”, “Imperial Diet Building Nozu” and other sumo-e paintings, but the number of works is small.
